Meijer Credit Union Opens In-Store Branch
Local Community Now Able to Use Meijer Credit Union Services

ATLANTA, December, 2004
IBT a leading financial institution design and consulting company headquartered in Atlanta, GA. has completed the first in-store service center for Meijer Credit Union, which is located inside a Meijer supercenter in Rockford, Michigan. The new full service branch offers everything from savings accounts to mortgages.

Meijer Credit Union was started in 1958 by senior leadership within Meijer, as a benefit to Meijer employees. Until this month, Meijer Credit Union was only open to Meijer Team Members and their families. Now Meijer is open to anyone living, working or worshipping in the City of Rockford and Algoma, Cannon, Courtland and Plainfield Townships. The new full service credit union has extended hours, Monday thru Friday, 10:00 to 7:00 and Saturday, 9:00 to 1:00.

According to Brad Swee, President of Meijer Credit Union, “IBT has designed a beautiful new service center that allows us to give our members quality service and current product information in a well designed, member friendly environment. We have very strong community ties and look forward to offering our personal service to the general public as well as valued Meijer employees.”

IBT provided design, construction and consulting services for the new 654 square foot credit union. “We created an environment that customers could complete transactions quickly and conveniently while still receiving the strong customer service and product information that is expected from Meijer Credit Union,” said Catherine Price, designer for IBT. To achieve this, the new branch includes three stand-up tellers and two enclosed offices as well as a highlighted marketing wall, which conceals a private services representative work area. The chosen color palette is Meijer Credit Union’s green PMS color with bright neutrals for a warm and welcoming effect. A curved soffit above the teller line provides a strong point of sale backdrop for the credit unions services that are highlighted with white lettering.
